Board of Directors
Joseph Cunningham is FX Bridge’s Chairman and founder. He served as chief executive of FX Bridge from its inception in 1999 until June 2008. Mr. Cunningham’s strategic vision and entrepreneurial energy lead FX Bridge from a concept to a market leader in innovative e-FX trading technology. In addition to his duties and responsibilities as Chairman of FX Bridge’s board, he remains a driving creative force in executive management. He has more than 25 years of experience in securities and commodities financial products and services, including as a proprietary options trader and private equity Forex options dealer. Stephen Best is Chief Executive Officer. He oversees the management, operation, and strategic direction of FX Bridge Technologies Corporation. Over the past 10 years, he has focused on the implementation of complex electronic trading initiatives at large financial institutions. He joined FX Bridge from State Street Global Markets, where he was Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Electronic Trading & Distribution. In this role, Stephen was responsible for FX algorithmic trading and electronic sales. Previously, Stephen was Managing Director, Global Head of eCommerce Strategy for JPMorgan’s Global Currencies & Commodities Group. During his 20 year career in financial markets, Stephen has held derivative trading and sales roles at RBC, UBS and Deutsche Bank. He received his M.B.A. (Finance) from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto and his B.A. (Economics & Politics) from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Gardiner W. Garrard III is a founder and Managing Partner of Total Technology Ventures LLC, a leading financial technology venture capital investor. Prior to founding Total Technology Ventures, Mr. Garrard was a principal of Shoptaw & Garrard, LLC, an Atlanta-based investment management firm and portfolio manager of real estate private equity funds. He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Connecture, Inc., Perimeter Internetworking Corp., ControlScan, Inc., FTRANS Corp., Bluepoint Solutions, Interactive Advisory Software, Inc., and Chain Reaction E-Commerce Company. Mr. Garrard serves on the board of Goizueta Business School, the Georgia Department for Economic Development, and The Emory Eye Center. He previously served on the board of the Make-A-Wish Foundation. Mr. Garrard is a member of Leadership Georgia’s class of 2005 and the Atlanta Downtown Rotary. In 2004, Mr. Garrard received the Goizueta Business School’s Outstanding Alumni award. He earned a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University. Mark A. Johnson is most recently a partner in Total Technology Ventures LLC, a leading financial technology venture capital investor. Mr. Johnson is the former Chief Financial Officer of CheckFree Corporation and served as Vice Chairman of its board of directors. In 2000, Mr. Johnson formed e-RM Ventures, a private investing consultancy focused on early-stage payments-related companies. Previously he has held senior positions with the Federal Reserve Bank and Bank One. He currently serves on a number of private companies’ Board of Directors. He is Chairman of Venture Atlanta and is the former Chairman and currently sits on the Board of Directors of the Technology Association of Georgia. Mr. Johnson holds an undergraduate degree from Miami University and an MBA degree from the Ohio State University. Farid Naib is most recently founder and Chief Executive Officer of Document Depository Corporation, an online high-security document storage technology provider for banking, multi-national corporations and professional investors. In 1985, Mr. Naib co-founded FX Systems to provide pricing systems for option traders. In 1992, Farid founded FNX Limited. Under his leadership, FNX grew from five employees and one office to more than 160 employees across eight offices worldwide. FNX was acquired by GL TRADE in 2007 and is now part of SunGard. Mr. Naib has received numerous awards for his entrepreneurial achievements. He has been voted the Delaware Valley Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young and was twice recognized as an Enterprise Award Finalist for CEO’s Under 40. FNX itself has in recent years been elected the Growth Company of the Year by Price Waterhouse Coopers and is a multi-year recipient of the Philadelphia 100 and the Fast 50 awards. FNX can be found repeatedly on the Inc. 500’s list of America’s fastest growing, privately held companies. Farid holds a BBA from Emory University and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He serves on several boards and is a visiting member of the Management Department at the Wharton School, where he teaches Entrepreneurship. |
