Board of Directors

Our Board of Directors brings with it a wide range of experience and knowledge. It is the paramount duty of the Board of Directors to oversee senior management in the competent and ethical operation of the company on a day-to-day basis, to monitor FX Bridge’s financial performance, and to evaluate overall corporate strategy. To satisfy this duty, the directors take a proactive, focused approach to their positions and set standards to ensure success

Joseph Cunningham is FX Bridge’s Chairman and founder. He formerly served as chief executive of FX Bridge (and its predecessor company) from its inception in 1999 until June 2008. Mr. Cunningham’s strategic vision and entrepreneurial energy led FX Bridge from a concept to a market leader in innovative e-FX trading technology.

In addition to his responsibilities as Chairman of FX Bridge’s board, he remains a driving creative force in executive management. Mr. Cunningham has more than 25 years of experience in securities and commodities financial products and services, including as a proprietary options trader and private equity Forex options dealer.

Stephen Best is Chief Executive Officer. He oversees the management, operation, and strategic direction of FX Bridge Technologies Corporation. Over the past 10 years, he has focused on the implementation of complex electronic trading initiatives at large financial institutions.

He joined FX Bridge from State Street Global Markets, where he was Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Electronic Trading & Distribution. In this role, Stephen was responsible for FX algorithmic trading and electronic sales. Previously, Stephen was Managing Director, Global Head of eCommerce Strategy for JPMorgan’s Global Currencies & Commodities Group. During his 20 year career in financial markets, Stephen has held derivative trading and sales roles at RBC, UBS and Deutsche Bank. He received his M.B.A. (Finance) from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto and his B.A. (Economics & Politics) from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

Gardiner W. Garrard III is a co-founder and managing partner of TTV Capital. He has more than ten years of venture capital experience. He has served on the board of 12 TTV fund companies and currently serves on the board of directors of Bluepoint Solutions, Connecture, CRE Secure, FTRANS, FX Bridge, IAS and Perimeter eSecurity. In addition, in 2003, he became the interim CEO of a portfolio company, stabilizing operations and securing a merger that allowed the investors to see a positive return on investment.

Prior to starting TTV Capital, Gardiner worked for Shoptaw-James where he originated permanent financing from lenders for commercial and office real estate developers, including life insurance companies, banks and mortgage backed securities firms. Gardiner earned a B.A. degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an M.B.A. from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, where he was awarded the Art Dietz faculty award for excellence in finance, was the chairman of the honor council and was recognized in 2004 with the Goizueta Business School’s Outstanding Recent Alumni award. He is a member of the State of Georgia’s Economic Development board of directors. His community involvement includes board or advisory board roles at the Make-a-Wish Foundation, the Goizueta Business School and The Emory Eye Center.

Mark A. Johnson joined TTV as a partner in 2008. He is the former vice chairman of CheckFree. His responsibilities included overseeing mergers and acquisitions, evaluating strategic growth opportunities for the company, developing strategic corporate relationships and supporting long-term business strategies. He was also a member of the CheckFree board of directors.

Mark first joined CheckFree in 1982 as vice president of operations. He held numerous positions within the organization and was responsible for the development and launch of CheckFree’s commercial and consumer electronic funds transfer services and electronic bill payment and bill presentment businesses as well as the development of key strategic alliances and marketing initiatives.

In 2000, he left his position as vice chairman of corporate development and marketing to form e-RM Ventures, a private investing consultancy focused on early stage payments-related companies. He continued to work with CheckFree executive management on strategic issues through his board of director position, and returned to CheckFree as vice chairman in February 2003.

Prior to joining CheckFree, Mark worked for the Federal Reserve Bank and Bank One. He currently serves on a number of private companies’ boards of directors and he is currently the chairman of Venture Atlanta, and on the board of directors of the Technology Association of Georgia where in 2007 he was chairman. Mark holds an undergraduate degree from Miami University and an M.B.A. from the Ohio State University. 

Mark serves on the board of Bill.com, Cardlytics, ControlScan, FX Bridge and IAS.

Farid Naib is most recently founder and Chief Executive Officer of Document Depository Corporation, a high-security document management technology provider for multi-national banks and corporations.

In 1992, Farid founded FNX Limited. Under his leadership, FNX grew to become the leading provider of financial derivative instruments technology to over 120 of the largest banks worldwide. FNX was acquired by GL Trade Corporation in 2007 and is now part of SunGard Corp. FNX repeatedly earned top honors in the Inc. 500’s list of America’s fastest growing, privately held companies.

Farid was one of the founding investors in Gain Capital and sat on its board of directors for eight years. Gain Capital had its Initial Public Offering on the New York Stock Exchange in December 2010.

Mr. Naib was voted Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young and was twice recognized as an Enterprise Award Finalist for CEO’s Under 40. He holds a BBA from Emory University and an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently a member of the Management Department at the Wharton School of Business, where he teaches Entrepreneurship.
