The Management Team

FX Bridge’s management team possesses extensive industry and technical knowledge from retail and institutional dealing to systems design and administration. This dedicated group of professionals endeavors to be the premier provider of online FX execution technology to dealers and liquidity providers in the global capital markets.

Stephen Best is Chief Executive Officer. He oversees the management, operation, and strategic direction of FX Bridge Technologies Corporation. Over the past 10 years, he has focused on the implementation of complex electronic trading initiatives at large financial institutions. He joined FX Bridge from State Street Global Markets, where he was Senior Managing Director, Global Head of Electronic Trading & Distribution. In this role, Stephen was responsible for FX algorithmic trading and electronic sales. Previously, Stephen was Managing Director, Global Head of eCommerce Strategy for JPMorgan’s Global Currencies & Commodities Group. During his 20 year career in financial markets, Stephen has held derivative trading and sales roles at RBC, UBS and Deutsche Bank. He received his M.B.A. (Finance) from the Schulich School of Business at York University in Toronto and his B.A. (Economics & Politics) from Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

James N. Friedman is Chief Operating Officer and has been with FX Bridge since 2002. Mr. Friedman is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island with a BS in Industrial Engineering and an MBA in business management. He brings technology and marketing experience from Digital Equipment Corp., Software AG, and SBC Communications. In addition, he has held NASD Series 3 and Series 30 licenses.

Jeff Hedlund is Chief Technology Officer. He joined FX Bridge in 2004. While receiving his B.S. in Computer Science from the Georgia Institute of Technology he was involved with the Georgia Tech Research Institute as a computer specialist. As an entrepreneur he owned Matrix, Inc., a software development company focused on Electronic Document Interchange (EDI) solutions. Later he served on the management team at Elsym Consulting, Inc. where he was responsible for the software development infrastructure, procedures and technology needs of the firm and played a key role in developing and maintaining its ISO 9001 certification.

Tito Girod is Chief Information Officer. He comes to FX Bridge with industry expertise in the high-performance trading systems space. He previously served as vice president of software development for Lava Trading. He has built options trading systems for First Traders Analytical Solutions and served as chief technology officer of an international proprietary trading firm. Tito holds a B.S. in Computer Science from Tulane University and a Masters in Ancient History from the American Military University.

John C. Nelson is Chief Financial Engineer, and has been working with FX Bridge from its inception. He holds a BS in mathematics and a MS in statistics from Kansas State University, and a Master of Engineering Management from Northwestern University. He is a member of the International Association of Financial Engineers, Professional Risk Managers International Association, and the Society of Technical Communications; and is an industry advisor to the McCormick School of Engineering at Northwestern University.

Joseph Cunningham is Founder and Executive Chairman of FX Bridge. Mr. Cunningham’s strategic vision and entrepreneurial energy lead FX Bridge from a technology concept in 1999 to a market leader in innovative e-FX trading technology. In addition to his responsibilities as Chairman of FX Bridge’s board, he remains a driving creative force in executive management. He has more than 25 years of experience in financial products and services, including as a proprietary options trader and private equity Forex options dealer.
